The HEET Project
HEET is a not-for-profit organisation working in the London boroughs of Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Enfield. We help households to:
- Save money on fuel bills
- Stay warm & healthy at home
- Save energy & cut carbon emissions
Could you be a Community Energy Champion?
We know Waltham Forest residents are struggling more than ever with the rising cost of heating their homes, mounting gas and electricity bills, and staying warm and healthy in their homes.
HEET is looking to recruit people already active in the community and who would like to volunteer to help their friends and neighbours save energy, resolve issues with debt on gas and electricity bills, and access grants for insulation and heating.
Making Homes Warmer and Healthier
HEET may be able to make your home safer and warmer, free of charge, if you live in Waltham Forest or Enfield and are living on a low income or have a long-term health condition or disability. .
Making homes warmer: HEET can fit energy efficiency measures that will help you to save money on your heating bills and stay warm in winter. Saving energy also helps to reduce carbon emissions and so is good for the environment. Find out more about our energy efficiency services.
Healthy homes: Cold, damp and insecure homes are bad for physical and mental health. (Find out why it matters to keep warm.) We therefore encourage referrals from health and social care professionals to help us reach those whose health is at risk. Make a referral to HEET.
Redbridge Handyperson Scheme
HEET delivers the Handyperson Scheme on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge.
For a small charge, the scheme assists older, vulnerable and disabled residents with odd jobs and small-scale repairs around the home.
The service is available to all Redbridge residents who are:
- aged 60 years or over;
- disabled or have a long term serious illness or health problem which makes it difficult to carry out the work; or
- awaiting discharge from hospital.
